LAKE
TITICACA TOUR INFORMATION:
LAKE TITICACA - 4 Days and 3 Nights
(including Puno and the Floating Islands)
Puno is a city located on the shore of
Lake
Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake, at
3860 meters above sea level. According to the local
legend, this lake was the birthplace of the Inca
civilization. Here you will visit the locals that
live on Floating Islands, built by the residents
themselves out of tortora reeds. This tour is also a
great way to spend time with the native people and
see different way of life.
Day 01: Juliaca - Puno
On your way to Puno you will visit the famous
Chullpas of Sillustani, 12 m/40ft high stone
cylinder chambers, used by the Aymaras to bury their
important leaders. Lake Umayo, located in front of
the Chullpas, adds further beauty to the setting.
Here you also have the opportunity to observe wild
guinea pigs, birds and other local wildlife. Arrival
to your selected hotel where you have free time to
rest and get acclimatised to the altitude.
*If you arrive by train the excursion to Sillustani
will be on Day 4.
Day 02: Lake Titicaca:
Floating Islands of the Uros
and overnight at the Amantani Island.
After breakfast we take a two-hour motorboat
excursion on the waters of
Lake Titicaca to the
unique Floating "Islands" of the Uros. The ancient
inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe,
have built their own "islands" by periodically
adding new layers of a type of reed, unique to the
area called "Totora". Their homes and boats are also
made of this material. After having experienced some
of the ancient traditions of the local people, you
continue your motorboat trip to Amantani Island. The
positive energy of this Island is so powerful that
it is known as the "Love Island". Box lunch. You
will stay overnight at the house of a local islander
to enjoy the hospitality of a typical Amantani home.

Island - Puno.

through the quaint streets of this colourful island.

Island, also inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives
who have developed efficient and unique social
systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques,
that have been passed down through the generations.
Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we have a lunch
then take a walk through the various hills and
archaeological sites of this 6km long island. In the
